Today VOCES8 return with a world premiere of The Lamb by composer Luke Mayernik. The new setting of the classic William Blake poem currently features in 'Live from London Christmas 2023', a series of streamed concerts of an assortment of festive choral works running until 7 January.

The text was written by Blake in 1789 where it was a counterpart to his famous The Tyger in his nominal collection of poems Songs of Innocence and Experience. Since then, the text has inspired composers through the ages; from Vaughan Williams's Ten Blake Songs to the well-beloved setting by Sir John Tavener.
